CPARM
Contingency Planning And Recovery Management Group

MISSION STATEMENT
The Contingency Planning and Recovery Management Group is dedicated to the advancement of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery from both private and public sector organization viewpoints, and to the enhancement of communication between the private and public sectors of emergency management and contingency planning groups. We are concerned with all phases of private and public emergency management planning, and dedicated to the sharing of information and experiences in an effort to help each other.

CONFIDENTIALITY RULES, PROTOCOL, AND OTHER DETAILS
The group meets six times a year, every odd month on the second or third Wednesday, at the choice of the hosting member. Typical meetings are 9:00 - 2:00, with networking 9:00 - 9:30. The individuals in membership are professionals in the contingency planning field.

We are informal, but demand confidentiality of meeting discussion. CPARM is a forum to bring potentially serious problems for discussion, hoping to find reasonable solutions from other members who may have experienced similar situations. We speak openly with trust that sensitive issues will remain within the group and not be used for competitive advantage. Each attendee is expected to respect the confidentiality of the discussions.

No member may use these meetings for personal gain or for sales presentations, however the organization hosting a meeting may present what their company does, including offering tours to the group. If unsure whether your idea may violate the spirit of the group, you are invited to propose it to the group for consideration. Our roster, mailing list, and email address list may not be sold nor used for marketing purposes, even if replaced by a newer version.

We limit membership to approximately 30 organizations in a mix of business and public sector and non-profits. The reasons for the limit is to foster small group trust, and to keep the meetings to a size that both promotes meaningful discussion and that most member organizations can accommodate for a CPARM meeting. Due to space limitations, it is at the discretion of the meeting's host to limit attendance to one per organization, or if space allows, open attendance to all members.

We encourage active participation and discourage having names on our roster that no one remembers. Attendance is taken by organization. An organization that has none of their members attend for 3 meetings in a row will be dropped from our roster. if a CPARM member must miss a meeting due to a test, a "T" will be placed in that date.

We do not have by-laws or dues, but each member is asked to host a meeting (in rotation) and arrange a place for us to have lunch together. It is not required that the hosting organization pay for attendees' lunches, but morning coffee is important to getting everyone’s attention!

In conclusion, we are a small group very committed to developing comprehensive emergency management programs for the organizations that employ us and the communities we serve.

Members are welcome to invite guests to meetings, as long as they make those guest(s) agree to abide by our protocol and confidentiality rules. A guest wishing to become a member may be admitted after attending three meetings within their first year, provided there is room for another organization or member. During this "guestation" period, the individual will be shown on our roster as a Guest.
